A rite of passage marks a meaningful transition in a young person’s life. A moment that recognises growth, responsibility and the shift toward adulthood. These experiences help shape identity and strengthen a sense of belonging, which is why they hold such significance within a school community. The start of the school year has been marked by two significant milestones for our graduating classes of 2026; the Year 12 Ball and the Year 12 Commissioning Ceremony. Together, these events honour our students as they step into their final year of schooling with pride, maturity and a strong sense of community.

The Year 12 Balls were a spectacular celebration of elegance, joy and togetherness. Both held at the iconic Fraser’s Kings Park, with sweeping views over Perth city and a beautifully decorated venue, students enjoyed an unforgettable evening of celebration. From the music and lighting to the menu and photography, every detail reflected dedication and creativity. It was a night filled with laughter, dancing and cherished memories. Their energy on the dance floor, their impeccable etiquette, and the way they supported one another throughout the night reflected the leadership qualities we are so proud to see emerging in these cohorts.

Just days later, our community gathered again for the Year 12 Commissioning Ceremonies, one of the most meaningful traditions in our school calendar. These events marked the formal beginning of the students’ final year and symbolises their transition into the role of senior leaders. In front of parents, staff and peers, each student was presented with their red Year 12 tie — a symbol of responsibility, unity and the legacy they will leave behind. As they accepted their ties, the significance of the moment was clear: they are ready to step forward with purpose, integrity and pride. The ceremony served as a reminder of the strong support network surrounding our Year 12s and the shared belief in their potential as they embark on their final chapter.

These events, one filled with celebration and sparkle, the other with tradition and meaning, beautifully capture the spirit of the year ahead. We look forward to walking alongside them as they continue to grow, lead and leave their mark on our school.
