Scholarships
St Stephen’s School’s Scholarship program aims to encourage and recognise students in their pursuit of excellence.
Scholarships provide full or part remission of tuition fees for the period of the Scholarship and are usually awarded until the recipient graduates from St Stephen’s School.
Students who are awarded scholarships are expected to demonstrate exemplary character and behaviour that aligns with the School’s values and recipients are expected to fully participate in the life of the School.
A range of Scholarships are awarded annually:
Academic Scholarships
St Stephen’s School offers academic scholarships to recognise students who demonstrate a high level of academic ability. Our academic scholarships are offered to students entering Year 7 and are inclusive of study in Years 7 – 12.
Community Excellence Scholarships
These scholarships are open to students entering Year 8, 9 or 10 and aim to recognise students who seek extraordinary opportunities and pathways to personal excellence. Recipients of Community Excellence Scholarships are role models to other students and can demonstrate their committed involvement in community and extra-curricular activities while persisting in their academic pursuits.
Instrumental Music Scholarship
Instrumental Music Scholarships are offered to students in Years 5 -10 who demonstrate excellent music aptitude and ability on their chosen instrument.
Music Instrument of Need Scholarship
These scholarships are specifically awarded to encourage students to learn an instrument that will help to balance the need of ensembles within the School. The instruments of need for 2025 are baritone saxophone, bassoon, french horn, double bass or trombone.
Home Away from Home Scholarship
These scholarships are awarded to regional students to improve their access to educational opportunities, while rewarding their academic efforts, involvement in co-curricular activities, commitment to community involvement and good conduct. These scholarships are open to regional students only and are open year round with no closing date for applications.

Applications for the Home Away From Home Scholarships remain open year-round.
