Pre-Kindergarten
The aim of our Pre-Kindergarten program is to support you by enriching your child’s learning from a young age and providing strong foundations for future learning success. As educators we know that genuine, positive relationships are essential to achieve positive learning outcomes so we want families to feel part of St Stephen’s School and enjoy a sense of belonging.
A child’s early years are full of joy, wonder and discovery and are crucial to their growth and development. We are blessed to have a group of experienced, knowledgeable, passionate and dedicated Christian educators with the latest resources and technology to make a difference in the world. It really does “take a village to raise a child” and we are serious about providing high quality care and education in a Christian environment that develops the whole child. We look forward to developing a life-long relationship with your family.
Program
Our Pre-Kindergarten program runs for 90 minutes every Wednesday during school term. During Terms 1 and 2 (February to July), a parent or nominated adult will be required to attend each facilitated playgroup session with the child. During Terms 3 and 4 (July to December), the child will be expected to attend independently and participate in the Early Years Learning Program.
Outcomes
- Children have a strong sense of identity.
- Children are connected and contribute to their world.
- Children have a strong sense of well-being.
- Children are confident and involved learners.
- Children are effective communicators.
Uniforms
A Pre-Kindy t-shirt will be provided by the school, however, children are not required to wear school uniform for the Pre-Kindergarten program. We are a sun-smart school, so we ask that all children and accompanying adults bring a hat each week and wear it when they go outside.
