WACE Results 2025 – Looking to the Future

At St Stephen’s School, success is measured not only by results, but also by the purpose, the values and the aspirations that guide each student’s journey. The Class of 2025 has embraced a wide range of pathways across ATAR, VET and General studies, with many students already looking beyond results toward the impact they hope to make in the world.
We are proud to share 24 of our ATAR students recorded scores above 90. Of these students, 12 achieved an ATAR of 95 and above. A full list can be found below. Beyond the numbers, it’s the students’ own reflections that tell the full story.
Across both campuses, our top-performing VET and ATAR students have articulated a strong sense of direction and purpose. Their reflections highlight the depth of thinking and conviction that has shaped their senior years and the futures they are now working toward.
At Carramar, Eva Bowman, Dux of Vocational Studies, expressed a strong connection to the natural world, saying “I really want to become an Environmental Conservation officer who works out in the fields,” adding that she has “always just been really interested in nature and outdoors and I really want to help the planet.”
At Duncraig, Joshwa Ruiz, Academic Dux Proximae, reflected on the personal experience that inspired his career aspirations. He shared that “for most of my life, I lived in a rural town,” and recalled a time when his sister was injured and “the dentist in the town wasn’t good enough or they didn’t have the required tools for treatment.” Joshwa remembers thinking during the long drive to Perth “that it shouldn’t take this long to get the treatment deserved,” a moment that became his “big motivator for becoming a dentist.”
Every student’s journey is unique and the Class of 2025 has achieved exceptional outcomes across academic and vocational pathways. Duncraig student, Alyssa Hardingham was the top-performing ATAR student cross-campus, scoring a remarkable 99.5, while Jeevit Johal topped the Carramar campus with 98.05. Our Vocational Education and Training (VET) students also achieved great success this year, with detailed results to be shared early in the new year.
A desire to make a meaningful impact was evident in the aspirations of our top-performing students. Luke Shirdon, Carramar Dux of Qualitative Studies, spoke passionately about his concern for the future, sharing, “I really care about making sure that as young people, we have a future that’s clean and that’s safe and that the climate is properly being taken care of.” He hopes to “use law as a pathway to make sure that our natural ecosystems and environment are being taken care of.”
Similarly, Duncraig student Amelie Wardlaw shared her desire to pursue humanitarian aid, explaining that “I feel really fulfilled when I help people and if I’m able to help people on a wider scale, I think that’s my purpose.” Her reflections speak to a strong sense of service and the desire to make a meaningful difference beyond the classroom.
Reflecting on the Class of 2025, St Stephen’s School Principal Mrs Donella Beare said these results represent more than academic achievement alone, “they reflect the commitment our students have demonstrated throughout their entire schooling journey.” Continuing, she said, “we congratulate the Class of 2025 and look forward with great anticipation to the many ways they will contribute to their communities and shape the future.”
Mrs Beare encourages all graduating students to remain connected and continue their relationship with St Stephen’s School through the alumni program as they take their next steps beyond school.
