We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for a part-time (0.5 FTE) Gifted and Talented (GAT) Specialist teacher for Semester One, 2024. This is a leave replacement.

The suitable applicant will be able to deliver an engaging and relevant Secondary Gifted and Talented curriculum. The role includes instruction of students via a specific Gifted Support Program, small group work and individual personal projects.

The successful applicant will co-ordinate GAT learning activities and competitions, attend student interviews for potential GATE/PEAC/Gifted students, and work alongside teachers of extension classes.

It is expected the GAT Specialist will use a range of effective, appropriate and impactful strategies to support gifted and talented students, have an understanding of, and experience in, using differentiation and extension applications to support gifted development, and have knowledge of how these can benefit students who have identified specific gifts and talents. Experience with a GAT program and/or working with extension-gifted students is also desirable.
