Synthesis Duncraig 2025 opened on 22 October, launching a week-long celebration of creativity across Art, Media, Design & Technology from Pre-Primary to Year 12. Opening Night set the tone with Primary and Secondary awards for Visual Arts, Media and Technologies, a film screening, live music, and an inspiring address from alumnus and Perth singer-songwriter Jack Hamilton, who shared his journey from St Stephen’s School to WAAPA and beyond.

Across the Primary Village and Secondary displays, visitors explored everything from ceramic owls, Impressionist-inspired 3D works and Steampunk assemblage sculptures to sketchbook inquiries, oil painting, Gyotaku printing, installations and photorealistic portraiture. Media projects spanned short films, westerns, action sequences, trailers, music videos and senior shorts, while Technologies impressed with crafted furniture, engineering builds (CO₂ dragsters, catapults, metal vices), graphics collaborations, digital design, sustainable textiles and a tasty Hospitality showcase, all underscored by Swing Band performances that kept the atmosphere buzzing.

Thank you to our students, staff and families for bringing Synthesis to life and for the strong community support throughout the exhibition week. The breadth of work, final pieces and the creative processes behind them, highlighted skill and bold ideas at every level.
