In 2023, St Stephen’s School is proud to be acknowledged as a “Privacy Champion” with 100 per cent compliance for data privacy.

For us, protecting the data of our parents, students and staff goes beyond compliance – it is the foundation of respectful, collaborative relationships with our families. We have a range of measures in place to help protect the personal and sensitive data we hold and work with each day.

The continuous professional development of our staff and our parent representatives, makes sure that we all understand the Australian Privacy Principles and how they relate to our roles. We also perform ongoing internal procedural audits, are working towards the digitisation of all paper-based processes and manage the data lifecycle to ensure the integrity of the information we hold and ensure we adhere to best-practice privacy and data management.

Our ICT Team play an important role, too, by proactively managing the safety of our online presence. Through the implementation of a whole-school cyber safety culture, we aim to provide a safe, inclusive and supportive working and learning environment free from potential privacy breaches, cyber bullying and harassment, creating a safe digital environment for our St Stephen’s School community.

We are also supporters of the 2023 Privacy Awareness Week hosted by the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
