Photo permissions de-mystified
Posted in News -
Ever wondered why you see other people’s children on social media and not your own? It could be because of the photo permissions set in Consent2Go for your child.
We have three categories of permissions:
- Web – which relates to
using photos of children on the St Stephen’s School Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn public accounts and on the St Stephen’s School website. - Promotional material – this includes using photos of students in our print and digital advertising campaigns and the posters/banners/brochures you see around our campuses and in public-facing spaces. It’s important to note, though, that we always engage parents prior to scheduling students for a professional photo or video shoot for our advertising and promotional materials.
- School publications – this includes the annual ‘Reflections’ yearbook as well as musical and drama production programs. This one is an important one to take note of. If you do not give permission for School publications, your child will not be included in the yearbook.
By clicking on one or all of these we know not to use your child’s photograph in these channels.
What if you want to check or change permissions?
There is absolutely no pressure at all to change permissions but, if you would like to check or change the permissions set for your child simply log onto the parent portal and follow these steps:
- under ‘Plan the term’ click on ‘update your details’
- then click ‘go to’ next to ‘complete or update your child’s student profile’
- This will take you to the student update page where you will need to enter the email address you have previously provided to St Stephen’s School.
- Then click ‘send update link’ and you will receive a link to the page where you can update permissions.
If you ever have any questions or concerns about how your child’s photograph is being used, please do not hesitate to contact our Community Relations team at communications@ststephens.wa.edu.au
