Whether you’re looking for a tradie, dog groomer or an accountant the St Stephen’s School Business Directory is sure to have someone to help!

We are fortunate to have many highly-skilled parents and alumni delivering a range of services, so we established the Business Directory as a way of connecting customers with service providers within our community.

The Business Directory is a members-only space, so you can be assured that the people you connect with have a connection to the St Stephen’s School community, either as a current or past parent or alumnus.

Each term we will be profiling a member of our Business Directory, starting with Brad Young – Chief Grout Officer at The Grout Guy

Brad and his wife Kristy live locally in Carramar and have four young boys – Archie in Kindy and Chase in Pre-primary both at the Carramar campus, Rigby aged 2 and Nolan who is 6 months old.

Brad’s journey began at the age of 17 when he returned to Perth after a year in Canada at an ice hockey academy. Needing to start earning a living, he took a job helping a family friend’s small shower repair business. Little did he know that this opportunity would lead him to build The Grout Guy. At the age of 19, he bought the business rebranding it as The Grout Guy.

Together with Kristy, Brad has expanded the business significantly from its home base of Perth and now operate in four states with more than 100 team members and 80 vans across the country. His success has been recognised with the company winning Large Business Category at the 40Under40 Awards and Enterprise of the Year Award at the Belmont and Western Australia Small Business Awards.

The Grout Guy specialises in leaking showers, along with grout replacement and tiling. The services extend to residential and commercial properties. The Grout Guy’s dedication to customer satisfaction, coupled with its innovative approach and community involvement, makes them the number one choice. Brad’s ethos of maximising opportunity, while maintaining a lifestyle balance and being a dedicated father ensures that both customers and employees benefit from The Grout Guy’s services and work environment.

As a parent, Brad is acutely aware of issues around mental health in youth. He’s determined to make a difference to his community by raising money for zero2hero which is a WA-based not-for-profit dedicated to educating, engaging and empowering young people to become mental health leaders and help prevent suicide in Western Australia.

To support zero2hero, The Grout Guy has pledged to donate $2 from every job over the next year and also match any customer who chooses to add $2 to their invoice.

This initiative aims to raise $50,000, which will enable zero2hero to support an additional 650 young people through their school programs and direct support initiatives. While a lofty goal, close to $20,000 has already been raised, including his participation in the CEO cape2cape Trek where Brad walked 136km. Through his fundraising, Brad hopes to equip young individuals with the tools to manage their mental health, support their peers, and access help before reaching a crisis point.

You can help support this amazing cause by donating TODAY OR book in a SERVICE and make a difference in your home and young person’s life.
