Can you help?
Would you like to support children undergoing cancer treatment, assist women experiencing homelessness, enable research into melanoma or help to foster literacy by funding a “Story Dog”? By making a donation to the St Stephen’s School WA Charity Direct Student Committee you can help fund a range of important not-for-profit projects.
What is WA Charity Direct?
WA Charity Direct (WACD) is a WA-based charitable group that focuses on the direct provision of grants to assist people faced with physical, financial and/or emotional hardship.
In 2017, under the guidance of WACD, we established a WACD Student Committee which works to identify, review, and facilitate a WACD grant to those who need it most. It is a wonderful opportunity for students to discover and learn philanthropy from a young age, giving their time, effort, and resources to support members of the local community who need help.
Since the WACD Student Committee was established, the group has distributed $107,200 WACD funds to locals in need.
Due to their passion and commitment to this work, in 2024, our students have decided to take on the additional responsibility of seeking financial support themselves, instead of drawing on funds from WACD and are looking to raise a total of $5 000. Read more about this step forward here.
The St Stephen’s School WACD Student Committee has selected a number of projects to fund which include Story Dogs, Melanoma Institute Australia and the Saba-Rose Foundation.
Full details of the organisations and the projects seeking funding can be found here.
