An athletic yet humble Year 8 student is the most recent recipient of the Athletic Institute (AI) one-year scholarship award presented at the 2023 St Stephen’s School Carramar Sports Award Assembly. Nate Richardson has been described by AI’s Corey Green as a “humble, dedicated, team player who embodies the values of Athletic Institute perfectly”.

Since 2018 St Stephen’s School has partnered with Wangara based business, Athletic Institute for the School’s Athlete Development Program (ADP), a selective program helping to hone the sporting talents of the School’s secondary students. The program is unique in that it doesn’t focus on one sport but instead aims to provide additional training and education to compliment a student’s pre-existing sports training program.

The program involves specialised coaching from degree-qualified instructors, real gym experience and a focus on holistic development. Students are educated on nutrition, injury prevention, strength and conditioning as well as being taught essential coping skills to succeed as a professional sportsperson.

Each year, an ADP athlete from the Duncraig and Carramar campus are awarded a scholarship to the youth program at Athletic Institute. The scholarship recognises exceptional improvement, dedication, and promise displayed by the recipient.

“As the ADP continues to thrive, we remain committed to nurturing the athletic potential of our students and preparing them for success both on and off the field. The one-year scholarship opportunity is a testament to our dedication to recognising and rewarding outstanding achievements within the program” said Corey Green, Owner, Athletic Institute.

Congratulations to Nate and all our ADP students.
