The St Stephen's School Model for Teaching and Learning promotes a relationship-centred approach to learning, which prioritises narrative, intrinsic motivation and being excellent for others.
This purpose lies at the heart of the St Stephen's Institute; to work with staff to provide support, guidance, professional and personal growth opportunities.
St Stephen's Institute is committed to providing our teaching and non-teaching staff community with opportunities for growth and to ensure that we reflect a Christian approach to education for today, tomorrow and beyond.

St Stephen’s School is a young and progressive co-educational school of the Uniting Church in Australia. We have a reputation for excellence in teaching and a commitment to developing well-rounded people – people of innovation, creativity, integrity and faith.
The School was established at the Duncraig campus in 1984 and the Carramar campus in 2001. In 2011, an Early Learning Centre for Pre-Kindergarten to Year 2 opened at Hepburn Heights, Padbury.
Our mission to Serve God, Serve One Another is underpinned by five key values – faith, learning, service, care and community. We welcome all who share these values, from all faiths and backgrounds.
The School is a solid academic performer, yet the traits St Stephen’s School students learn such as teamwork, humility, leadership and compassion go beyond the classroom.
Our Service Learning programs see students better the lives of others on a local, national and international scale, taking them to various locations including India, Cambodia, Malaysia, South Africa and, closer to home – the Kimberley region of WA, to learn about different ways of life and enrich the lives of those we meet.
A personalised approach to teaching and learning, with subject specialist teachers from primary to secondary, helps students find their niche and identify the best pathway to reach their goals.
The School encourages out-of-the-box thinking and real-world opportunities for our students to learn.
It is also recognised as an Employer of Choice by teaching and education services staff.
