Gifted & Talented and Learning Enrichment

Our School recognises the differing needs and aspirations of students and we strive to provide for them appropriately through the Gifted & Talented extension and Learning Enrichment programs.

Students identified as academically gifted and talented are offered the opportunity to learn in an enriched learning environment to ensure they reach their full potential.

In Secondary School, students in the Gifted & Talented program are withdrawn for between four and six lessons a fortnight for lessons in creativity, critical thinking and philosophy, focused around the student’s interest and needs. They are given the opportunity to work with University and Industry mentors in areas of interest and expertise.

Learning Enrichment

Formal and informal testing and constant monitoring and tracking helps our Teaching and Learning staff to proactively cater for where students are in their education.

Learning Enrichment provides early age and developmentally-appropriate intervention that meets the interest and needs of the students for those requiring assistance to reach their potential.

Understanding that each child is unique enables teachers to work closely with students and families to monitor progress and development, personalise learning strategies within mainstream classrooms and allow students to get the best from a St Stephen’s School education.
