Splash down

The stands of Mount Claremont’s HBF Stadium were filled with a sea of red, yellow and blue as Duncraig Secondary held their Interschool Swimming Carnival for 2018.

The sense of excitement was obvious upon arrival with the Houses engaging in friendly competitive banter as the first swimmers stepped up to the blocks.

Everyone got into the spirit with students and teachers cheering loudly as each group of swimmers glided towards the finish line.

The show of sportsmanship was strong but it was Timae who took out the crown, ending the day on an impressive 2791 points, followed by Carana with 2288 and Alethea on 1111.

Timae’s Glenda Morgan (Year 11) and Zac Anderson (Year 12) took out the 50 Ultimate Champion awards for girls and boys respectively, which saw the Top 50m freestylers from the day take part in a handicapped race that had audiences on the edge of their seats.
