GEORGIA UGLOW

Finding people their dream job is what Alumni Georgia Uglow enjoys most about her role at Crown Resorts in Sydney.

The Carramar Class of 2015 graduate started her career at Crown Perth in 2019 and made the big move to the Sydney site late last year, taking on the role of Talent Acquisition Advisor. She spends her days managing the recruitment cycle – advertising, screening, shortlisting, and interviewing applicants for diverse roles within the Food and Beverage, and Gaming departments of the organisation.

Georgia says the industry is challenging and fast paced, and she loves it.

“I think I have always had a passion for helping others and I love being able to provide the best experience for people who are looking for their dream role,” she says.

Georgia came back to St Stephen’s School as a marketing intern during her Human Resource Management and Marketing studies at UWA, learning all about the dynamics of school marketing and communications.

After graduating from UWA she approached a recruitment agency to discuss any suitable opportunities to start her career and was offered an unexpected role.

“I ended up meeting with them and instead of them finding another position for me they asked me to join their team, this is where I started my recruitment journey,” she says.

Georgia is settling into life in NSW this year, alongside her two adorable pups Charli and Henry, checking out the local beaches and parks in her spare time.

She has fond memories of life as a student at St Stephen’s School.

“St Stephen’s School helped shape me into a strong and determined person."

“I was always encouraged to try my hardest and do the subjects that I loved. I learnt a lot from my teachers, they often told me to never give up and to keep trying even when times were tough.”

Her simple advice to students looking ahead to life beyond school is, don’t put too much pressure on yourself.

“You will end up where you need to be, even if it doesn’t happen as quickly for you. Your ATAR score does not define you…trust me, when I say no one will ask you what you got once you’re in the big wide world.”

“Do what you love and what makes you happy!”
