National Day
Call
it National Day, Federation Day or Australian Fun Day, our
Primary students, parents and teachers joined together to
celebrate, with a special emphasis on fun and games enjoyed by
families a century ago, about the time of Federation here in
Australia.
It was a wonderful day with children and adults alike learning to play marbles, hopscotch, knucklebones and sevens, or creating peg dollies, rag dolls, pom-poms and french knitting. Bush dancing and the making (and eating!) of our famous lamingtons added to the day's enjoyment.
Here are some images from the day....
They could have come right out of 1901.

Remember those nib and ink pens?
And here's how to make those yummy lamingtons!
